So Nat, can you tell us what sparked your interest in Chiropractic care? 

As someone who enjoys working with my hands and is passionate about health science, I saw chiropractic care as the perfect career path. 

As Chiropractors, we use natural and non-invasive techniques to support holistic health and wellbeing. I love that through this form of healthcare I’m able to support individuals achieve their goals in many stages of life.

What would you say is your specialisation when it comes to Chiropractic care?

There’s a few areas I specialise or take special interest in when it comes to treating patients, which includes:

Lumbo-Pelvic Care: This relates to the lumbar spine and pelvis for all individuals from pregnancy, kids, active lifestyles and athletes, shift workers and manual labourers. 

Postural Alignment: Including structural conditions such as scoliosis, pelvic imbalances, kyphosis and shoulder imbalance. 

Rehabilitative Exercises: Which includes working on the extremities (shoulders, knees, wrists, feet) and supporting patients through injury and rehabilitation.

How are regular adjustments beneficial?

As Chiropractors we can utilise this modal of care in order to identify and treat dysfunctions (experienced as niggles) before they develop into chronic issues. Ideally, we would love to see patients come in for regular visits as a preventative approach to health in order to optimise functionality and support the individual in their health goals. 

What are your go-to tips to looking after yourself, especially during the cooler months?

My advice would be to move more. The cooler months tend to produce more joint aches and stiffness, so it’s important to proactively set aside more time to be active. Spend a little more time on warming up prior to exercise to allow sufficient preparation for muscles and joints to prevent potential sprains and strains. 

What advice would you give to clients who are feeling unbalanced or experiencing low energy?

If you’re feeling off balance or experiencing prolonged bouts of low energy I would firstly address sleep, movement and nutrition. Try and aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. If you’re desk bound for work, aim for at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day. I would recommend checking in with a chiropractor to improve movement and optimise function.

In regards to nutrition, avoid seeking out quick energy sources like sugary and high fat foods during winter as these can make you feel more sluggish and decrease metabolic rate. 

What are you passionate about when it comes to health and treating patients?

I’m passionate about providing a service that is both informative and restorative. I enjoy creating a space for patients to better understand their bodies and benefit from what chiropractic care has to offer. I see my role as a facilitator to normal movement by reducing interference, triggers or poor patterns. I’m a firm believer in time and effort put in and the resultant outcome.
