Join Gyanananda and Geeti for 2hrs of transformative yogic practices to deeply balance and rejuvenate you on a Sunday afternoon.
Before you start the Yoga Nidra, Geeti will offer Naada Yoga (sound based practices with movement) to relieve tension in the body and release any busyness in your mind. Naada Yoga supports a healthy flow of Prana (life-force) through the body to help you be in an open and receptive state for the Yoga Nidra Meditation.
Gyanananda will then systematically lead you through the deeply relaxing and ancient, Yoga Nidra practice. Yoga Nidra is practiced in Shavasana, and you are encouraged to stay both alert and relaxed so you can derive the most benefit from the meditation. This practice has been scientifically proven to reach deep states of being where healing and restoration take place. You slowly move from the most active brain state of beta to alpha, theta, and potentially the deepest delta wave states. It can be a more effective form of complete rest and rejuvenation than conventional sleep, and helps to develop memory, awaken intuition and creativity.
(See Yoga Journal, ‘How Yoga Nidra Can Help You Get More Sleep’ for more information.)
In our busy and pressured lives, stress and lack of sleep take their effect on our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. The practice of Yoga Nidra is a perfect antidote for a modern lifestyle that can help bring you back into balance.
